The MCA vide Notification No. G.S.R. 1316 dt. 18.10.2017 has issued Companies (Registered Valuers and Valuation) Rules, 2017. These rules are regarding the Valuation by the Registered Valuers as provided under the section 247 of the Companies Act, 2013. There were different Valuation methods used by different types of registered valuers dealing with various, distinct group of assets, such as land and building, machinery and equipment. The Ministry has issued the aforesaid rules in order to standardize the Valuation methods, practices for various group of assets and to provide for requisite qualifications, experience and skills to practice as a Registered valuer. These rules also provides for Transitional arrangement, Recognition of Registered valuers organizations, Valuation standards amongst others procedural matters.
