Under Clause 35 of the Equity Listing Agreement & Clause 37 of the SME Listing Agreement, listed companies are required to file their Shareholding Pattern with the Stock Exchanges on Quarterly Basis.

Hence, in order to ensure accurate & efficient filing by Listed Companies, BSE on 11th June, 2015, launched the XBRL solutions for filing these Shareholding Patterns.

XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) is an electronic format for communication of business and financial data which is revolutionizing business reporting around the world.

To facilitate the reporting of shareholding pattern in XBRL format, BSE is to make available an XBRL utility that shall allow companies to file their SHP either in XBRL format (taxonomy made available free) or generate an XML file (using the free Excel Utility provided) and upload the XML file so generated on the BSE’s Listing Center portal. For this purpose, an additional option ‘XBRL’ is been made available in the ‘Listing Center’ portal by the Bombay Stock Exchange.

BSE is likely to introduce XBRL filing facility for submissions under other Clauses of the Listing Agreement, shortly.

BSE is also providing online real time assistance in the form of a Helpdesk to troubleshoot problems and assist users in filing the XBRL documents, Stakeholders can contact at bse.xbrl@bseindia.com or call on 1800-233-0445.
